As a person who frequents the outdoors for exercise, I know and am very much aware of dog attacks and how frequent they occur. The mere threat of such an occurrence almost persuades me to not exercise at times. I am certain I am not the only one seeing that there are millions of dog attacks each year throughout the United States; and almost 20% of those attacks result in urgent hospitalization. There is no doubt that a dog attack is a daily reality for many.
Communicating with dogs happens vicariously through body language. Even if it is another domestic animal, dogs can sense emotion and when those emotions are changing. They can detect poise and even sound frequency resulting from fluctuations in tone of voice and mental state. What’s scarier is that they can detect women like me at greater distances because of naturally emitting pheromones.
You could walk by a dog in fear but carrying a smile on your face, and a dog could still attack you because of how they interpret what you are communicating through body language. It is subject to the dog’s interpretation. Therefore, no matter the goofy smiles you flash at a dog, it is up them to interpret whether your smile is fake or not. And the kicker: how can we know what they are thinking before it’s too late?
Now whenever I walk, I maintain a comfortable distance from a dog anymore when I am walking or jogging in the neighborhood. But one day, a dog may not reciprocate keeping a safe distance; it wrinkled its nose and barked at me incessantly. When you are in that situation, the dog’s barking alone will make the hair on the back of your neck stand straight up.
So I asked around about what I could do about this fear of mine, and I heard about a lot of unsuccessful trials people have tried or even advocate: “karma-neutralizing” methodology, ultrasonic devices, karate, etc. After growing tired of hearing what doesn’t work, I found something that does work. I found the electronic dog repellent, and I bought one right away because of its stellar user reviews and blogs. Since my purchase, I have felt more confident continuing my exercise regiments outside, and I would not give it up for any other product.
Because of the electronic dog repellent I bought, I can stick to my exercise regiment without being fearful. When it comes to someone else’s dog, you never know what it can and will do.
