A lot of the time it can be very hard to get into work because of the snow or something like that but the real question to ask is, do people just make excuses on why they cannot get in or are they really stuck in the snow?

If you have a smaller car or perhaps rely on the wonderful public transport you will know how difficult getting in can be in the snow, this is why a boss should actually not be cross if someone cannot get in because of this. So if you are the boss of a company and someone is calling you to say they cant get in because of the weather there is no point in having a go at them. Read the rest of this entry ยป

Rehabilitation Through Psychiatric Techniques

Posted by: Casey Harris   in Health and Well Being

Psychiatric rehabilitation, also known as psychosocial rehabilitation, and usually simplified to rehab or rehabilitation is the process of restoration of community functioning and well being of an individual who has a psychiatric disability (been diagnosed with a mental disorder). Rehabilitation work undertaken by psychiatrists, social workers and other mental health professionals (psychologists and social workers, for example) seeks to effect changes in a person’s environment and in a person’s ability to deal with their environment, so as to facilitate improvement in symptoms or personal distress.

These services often “combine pharmacological treatment, independent living and social skills training, psychological support to clients and their families, housing, vocational rehabilitation, social support and network enhancement, and access to leisure activities.” There is often a focus on challenging stigma and prejudice to enable social inclusion, on working collaboratively in order to empower clients, and sometimes on a goal of full psychosocial recovery.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation can be described as consisting of eight main areas of work: Psychiatric (symptom management); Social (relationships, family, boundaries, communications & community integration); Vocational and or Educational (coping skills, motivation); Basic Living Skills (hygiene, meals, safety, planning, chores); Financial (budgets); Community and or Legal (resources); Health and or Medical (maintain consistency of care); and Housing (safe environments).

The Board of Directors of the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association USPRA approved and adopted the following standard definition of psychiatric rehabilitation: Psychiatric rehabilitation promotes recovery, full community integration and improved quality of life for persons who have been diagnosed with any mental health condition that seriously impairs their ability to lead meaningful lives.

Psychiatric rehabilitation services are collaborative, person directed and individualized. These services are an essential element of the health care and human services spectrum, and should be evidence-based. They focus on helping individuals develop skills and access resources needed to increase their capacity to be successful and satisfied in the living, working, learning, and social environments of their choice.

From the 1960s and 1970s, to de-institutionalize meant that many more individuals with mental health problems were able to live in their communities rather than being confined to mental institutions. Medication and psychotherapy were the two major treatment approaches, with little attention given to supporting and facilitating daily functioning and social interaction. Therapeutic interventions often had little impact on daily living, socialization and work opportunities. There were often barriers to social inclusion in the form of stigma and prejudice. Psychiatric rehabilitation work emerged with the aim of helping the community integration and independence of individuals with mental health problems. Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Psychosocial Rehabilitation became used interchangeably, as terms for the same practice.

These approaches may merge with or conflict with approaches based in the Consumer/Survivor Movement. Although current literature in the United States uses the names psychosocial rehabilitation and psychiatric rehabilitation interchangeably, around 2005 the professional organization IAPSRS (International Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services) changed its name to USPRA (United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association) and the trend is toward the title of Psychiatric Rehabilitation.

Psychiatric rehabilitation services may include: workplace accommodations, supported employment or education, social firms, assertive community (or outreach) teams assisting with social service agencies, medication management, housing, employment, family issues, coping skills and activities of daily living and socializing.

In the modern world almost everything is done digitally, both at home and in a storefront. Transactions, communication, and doing things by hand (such as counting change) have all been transformed with the advent of technology. Some store-owners still believe in training themselves and employees with some of the older methods though, which can be quite helpful. For this reason, credit card imprint machine are still popular and useful.

For smaller businesses, each individual sale makes a huge deal, and can make or break a day. These companies do not always have back up in the event of their point of sale system crashing. When that happens, what are they to do? If they turn away everyone who does not have cash to pay with, they could lose sales.

The financial loss is daunting enough, but even more troubling is the potential for losing the trust of your customers. With so many larger businesses competing, it is easy to be lost in the shuffle. Those with more money can afford more technology. As a smaller business, it is important to be able to have strength in customer service. If you cannot accommodate the modern shopper, they are likely to go elsewhere.

Manual machines make a power failure a much smaller problem. You can continue to serve your customers, they will not feel inconvenienced and will have a paper record of their purchase.

Customers are not the only ones who benefit. Having paper records is a wise move for businesses. It shows that you are conscientious during transactions. Also, it is helpful to have an imprint of the credit card if you have any suspicion of fraud.

While it does protect you when you encounter dishonest customers, it also is a help to your good customers. Electronic credit card machines are subject to both technical and human error. People tend to swipe the cards rather hastily. If you train your cash handlers to make a manual imprint as well, it helps them concentrate and also gives your clients a paper record. This makes them feel more secure.

Imprint machines are relatively inexpensive and convenient. If you are just starting out, it is a lot simpler to purchase this machine, where the only other technology you will need is your phone. It is easy to learn to use, and easy to teach others. If you want your business to flourish, being able to accept cards will be a step in the right direction. More and more people are using credit cards each day, and being able to use them also may incite them to spend more.

All in all, these machines are proof that sometimes doing something manually can be extremely helpful. The information age can lead to a technology overload, and if we are not prepared, this can be an excessive burden. For this reason, smaller businesses have found and will continue to find that certain traditions are important, and can make things simpler for both businesses and customers.

Using a credit card virtual terminal gives you a load of benefits, with convenience being right at the top. Retailers use portable credit card machines for Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions each day. Find out more for free at our website.

Understanding Telepathic Communication

Posted by: Alex J Gould   in Entertainment

It’s a well known fact that humans only use around 10% of their brains. The function of other 90% remains a mystery to most people.

We all have the power within us to transfer our thoughts to others without using anything other than the brain. This ability is present at birth.

As we grow up we’re conditioned to speak, think, act and behave like our elders. They don’t use the power of their minds to reach out and communicate with you, because they weren’t taught to do so either. The ability is left untapped and untrained.

We involve ourselves with other things in life and forget about such nonsense until the day comes that we know something we should not and ponder for a short time only to push it further to the back of our mind again.

Is this forewarning a form of clairvoyance? Or did your mind simply receive a subconscious telepathic call from the person calling you?

We connect subconsciously with others all the time. Our minds have the capacity to learn to do this on a regular basis anytime we feel a desire to. We can develop this natural ability to use at will.

Human telepathy is a natural inherent ability within most human beings that is usually never harnessed or guided into being one of the senses we use consciously in our daily lives. This doesn’t mean we don’t use it. It simply means the majority of people don’t know how to focus their minds in such a way to make communication possible.

Scientist say our though have a frequency and can be measured. A person can learn to use this to contact others and send messages. These thoughts or frequencies must be channeled in the right way in order to be effective in communication.

Ways to develop your telepathic powers

*A trance like state – When you get into a trance like state and become very relaxed, you will be able to send and receive messages at will. It is somewhat like being hypnotized, your mind will be open and receptive to communication.

If you are wanting to develop the ability to be telepathic, work on getting into the trance state to be successful with it.

*Focus – When you are relaxed and in a quiet place, think about a person you’d like to contact you. Focus on that person. Imagine that person receiving your message. Project positive, happy emotions and allow your thoughts to convey that you want this person to contact you. Don’t feel as though you need to concentrate on a command. That simply won’t work. Just continue to send positive impressions.

*Belief – You need to believe that the other person is receiving your message. Keep an open minded attitude as you learn to expand your telepathic focus.

*Stop the exercise – Snap yourself out of your dreamy state and go about your daily routine. This is an important part of the whole process.

You must release your thoughts and feelings about this person. This has the effect of the person missing you more and thus increasing their desire to talk to you. The person should contact you very soon.

This is a great way to become focused on developing and using telepathy to communicate. You can use two people to practice and enhance your abilities.

Here is a quick method to practice your telepathic communication using two people.

*One Sends and One Receives – Determine who wants to be the sender and who will be the receiver. We will start with you being the sender.

Since you are the sender your friend the receiver needs to have a pen and paper handy and be prepared to write down what comes into their mind. The receiver may feel silly at first so remember to stress how important it is to write everything down regardless of how trivial it may seem.

*Visualization – The person sending should pre-arrange some clear, simple images that are easy to pick up. Choose items that most people know easily, like red apples, yellow bananas or a white moon. These are concise simple images to project and maintain your focus.

*Transmitting – Relax and shut your eyes. Imagine a line of communication flowing to and from your receiver, perhaps an imaginary line between the two of you. Get as clear of a picture as you can of this line of thought flowing back and forth.

Then place the object you want the receiver to see inside your mental communication tube and send it directly to him. Create your image as clearly as you can. If you choose to focus on a red, shiny apple, then make sure you follow your apple all the way to the end of the thought-tube.

Visualizing is a very effective way to send messages telepathicly.

*End message – Stop sending when you have seen the object reach the receiver. Stop thinking about it, this is an important step as it lets the receiver see the image appear. He or she will also have time to write it all down

*Receiver – As with the sender, the receiver needs to relax and be as receptive as possible. He or she should also keep their mind open and record anything they perceive. He or she also needs to have good focus and a desire to see messages.

All humans will experience flashes and images in their mind’s-eye when their thoughts are still. Your receiver will at first believe he’s making things up, but it’s important to still record any impressions.

*Check the results – When the session is complete, see how well both of you done in sending and receiving images. Anyone will get some of them right as well have the ability to do this. It will take some training to do really well at it as a rule. A perfect score would be very unusual on the first try.

Remember, practice makes perfect!

Astral Project Yourself To Another Dimension

Posted by: John Pereira   in Health and Well Being

We are all born with the ability to astral project. Practice is the only reason some astral project and some do not. It is an ancient art and has been practiced for centuries deserving the same respect as yoga or meditation. Astral projection is known by different names and types. There are many different techniques to achieve astral projection.

One type of astral projection is lucid dreaming. This occurs when you are dreaming and know it. When your conscious mind knows you are dreaming you can astral project very easily. Get into the habit of telling yourself ‘I am dreaming’ when you are having a lucid dream.

You can do anything you want once you wake up in your dream. This may be a little too random for beginners to be successful enough to astral project.

You need to know that astral projection is real. You should also know that you have astral projected already, you simply were not aware that is what had happened. Have you ever woken up from a dream either in the middle of the night or in the morning and remembered a dream that you had the night before really well. As if you had lived it. That was an astral projection.

The key to success in astral projection is to believe you can do it. Any doubts or fears you have will only hold you back and make it harder for you to astral project.

Meditating and practicing relaxation techniques will also help you astral project. Meditating is actually an ideal way to prepare your mind and body for astral projection. All you have to do is find a meditative practice that you can follow easily and that you will be able to stick with.

A fairly simple meditative practice could be sitting in your favorite comfy chair, in a quiet place with no distractions. Once you are comfortable it is time to clear your head of anything and everything that is floating around in there. Do not focus on any stresses or troubles that are burdening you. The best way to do this is to focus on your breathing, your breathing should be deep and slow. With each breath you should see all the troubles in your head leaving you through your mouth. This will help you reach that deeply relaxed state that is needed to astral project.

The next step is to go into an altered conscious state. Keep focusing on your breathing, your problems are gone, your mind is blank. Breathe slow and deep, in through the nose and out the mouth, becoming more relaxed with each breath. It is time now to get your body relaxed as you breathe slower and deeper.

Start with your toes, as they are the most remote part of your body. There are two ways to do this. You can simply tell each part of your body to relax or tense the muscles up first and then relax each part. Tell each part of your body to relax as you move up. Use the method that you are most comfortable with.

The best way to describe what you are going to feel is heavy it is going to feel as though all of the energy and tension is slipping away from each part of your body. You will know it when it happens. Once you have relaxed each part of your body it is time for you to move to the next step that is going to help you astral project.

You will want to go to sleep by now, but do not do that. Find a way to stay alert. Try repeating a command as some experts recommend such as ‘Im flying, Im flying.’ It does not matter what it is, just something to keep you alert enough to avoid falling asleep.

Your mind may want to drift off and cause thoughts to start flowing through it. You do not want this to happen. You need to keep your focus on a phrase to keep these thoughts out. You will have to end the session and start over if you lose your focus.

Now, there are a couple of methods that can be employed to reach altered consciousness. You can use your repetitive statement to reach the altered state of consciousness. You can also use the body of light method, which is where you envision a body of light that you are going to see yourself transform into.

There are three feelings you are going to experience that will help you know that your astral body is going. First you are going to feel as though you are moving, then you are going to see lights and colors in front of your eyes (remember that your eyes are closed) this is simply the astral body moving into the astral world. Finally, you will hear voices that are going to be telling you to either stop what you are doing or encouraging you to continue. When you get to that third part you have successfully astral projected.
