Congratulations, if you are looking to adopt a puppy. These puppies really need a good home to go to. Saving an animal from a bad situation will have you feeling really good. Here is a list of some bad situation’s.

Being abandoned by owners

Being beaten or tortured

In this short article I’m going to give you even more tips on what you should be looking for when you’re looking to adopt a puppy. Knowing these important things can save you a lot of trouble, and you’ll have a happy healthy puppy to take home in the end.

What do I need to look for when I’m looking to adopt a puppy?

You need to make sure the puppy looks healthy and happy when you are looking to adopt a puppy. This will be a good sign that the puppy was not mistreated or abused by its previous owners. Listed below are some good signs you can look for.

Clean skin

Clean ears

Clean and clear eyes

You better be prepared and have some money to take the puppy to the veterinarian if it does not have these things in order. Some people do not mind the cost, but others want no part in it and this can cost you a lot of money.

Healthy looking feces

The puppy should have well formed feces that are not loose. This could be a sign that the puppy has not been eating properly and it could end up leading to problems shortly after you take it home.

Healthy gums

You’ll want the dog to have healthy looking gums with teeth that are formed or forming. This is very important as a puppy that isn’t healthy in this area will have all sorts of problems later on.

You’ll want the puppy to be responsive

Everything i listed in this article is huge, although it may not seem to be a big deal to some. It will either lead to some type of money you will have to spend or bad behavior that you will have to deal with. A dog will have a hard time adjusting when you bring it home if isn’t responsive to it’s surroundings.

This will lead to obedience problems and you never know how this puppy may end up reacting to other people. Again you’ll be on the hook for all this stuff so you want to interact with the puppy and see if it responds to you. If the puppy is responsive you’ll be able to do the following much easier.

Train the puppy

Make the puppy obedient

Teach the puppy to be friendly with others

If the puppy is not responsive all these things will be very difficult if not impossible to do. So when you’re looking into adopting a puppy consider all the things I listed in this article.

The Scary Link Between Sleep and Diabetes

Posted by: Kirsten Whittaker   in Health and Well Being

A tiny but interesting study out of the University of Chicago set out to look at the task sleep restriction – you know the later bedtimes and earlier wake up times we’ve all become used to – might play in the danger for diabetes. What they uncovered was an interesting connection between sleep and diabetes.

The results of the little but detailed work means that those in danger of diabetes have a tendency to get not enough sleep, not enough exercise and eat calorie and saturated fat charged Western diets.

Employing a randomized crossover design, the research included 5 men and six women of a median age 40, who had volunteered to be part of study projects.

The subjects fell into the chunky class, reported that they didn’t exercise fairly often but were otherwise healthy. These participants reported they slept just under eight hours per day.

The researchers then put the subjects through two—day times of controlled exposure to a sedentary lifestyle where unhealthy food was widely available.

The subjects stayed in a lab setting where their activity, sleep, diet and blood chemistry were monitored.

The subjects were not permitted to exercise, but fast food was bounteous. For one session partakers were permitted to sleep 8.5 hours per day, for the other session the amount of sleep allowed was cut down to 5.5 hours – achieved by retiring to bed later and getting up earlier, a widely known pattern for most of us.

Without having the ability to exercise, and surrounded with heaps of unhealthy food, it’s not surprising the partakers gained more than four pounds, irrespective of how much they slept.

The difference came in their abilities to control their blood sugar – dependent on how much sleep they were given subjects responded differently to 2 common sugar tests.

If a subject didn’t sleep enough, the blood sugar reading was higher, and there was less sensitiveness by the body to the sugar-lowering hormone insulin.

Taking this discovery a step further, it may be that shorter sleep patterns might facilitate insulin resistance and lowered glucose toleration, both hazards for diabetes.

The good news is that you can seriously cut your risk of this life changing diagnosis by doing 2 very simple things :

1 ) Lose 5%-10% of your current weight, and

2 ) Get a half-hour of moderate exercise five days each week.

Of course this research concerned the detailed evaluation of only a few subjects, so more work will be needed.

Still, if you are in jeopardy for diabetes, or concerned about the linkage between sleep and diabetes, it’s wise to consider how much sleep you get each night, and make changes to that you make enjoying enough really peaceful sleep a concern – part of your total plan of eating right and exercising to be healthy.

The Man Hormone And Figuring Out How To Get Thin Arms

Posted by: Katherine Crawford M.S.   in Health and Well Being

Do you really want go figure out how to get thin arms? If your answer is yes, then testosterone is going to be a key ally in your efforts. It’s really that important for your body and for losing arm fat.

Unfortunately, most women juxtapose this hormone with bulging biceps. Now it does help out with muscle growth, but it also increases lipolysis-the incineration of fat cells.

One more thing, the female body has up to 60 times LESS testosterone than the male body. Thus, it’s virtually impossible for you to end up looking like a man with bulging muscles by merely increasing your natural production of this hormone!

So without further ado, here is how to get thin arms by increasing testosterone:

1. Sleep like a baby. And not just for a couple of hours. You see, testosterone is produced during the last couple hours of sleep. Thus, it’s vital that you get a FULL night’s sleep.

2. Eat fat. Study after study has shown that higher fat diets lead to more testosterone production. There is no doubt here. So please do not skimp on the fat if you are really serious about learning how to get thin arms. Just stay away from saturated fat.

3. Resistance train. Again, unless you are genetically gifted, you will not gain insane amounts of muscle. And even if you could gain a lot of muscle, it would happen at a very slow pace. In other words, you would notice it long before it became an issue.

4. Keep stress to short bursts ONLY. If you let stress overtake you week in and week out, testosterone will plummet. And once this happens, getting thin arms will be very hard. One tool to combat stress is to schedule periods of worry time in your daily routine.

I hope by now you have understood that testosterone is more than just a manly hormone. It’s also a hormone that plays a very important role in your quest to get thin arms.

The days of women fearing weights because of too much testosterone and too much muscle mass are over. If you really want to figure out how to get thin arms, follow the pointers in this article!
