4 Fun Ideas for Group Christmas Presents

Posted by: Ellie Evergreen   in Shopping

This Christmas you are scrambling to find all the items on your children’s wish list. But why all the hustle hurry? A great idea to add to your holiday shopping is a gift that all your kids can use and enjoy. There are some great benefits for doing this. You can save money by buying one big gift and buying smaller ones than they might have originally wanted. You are giving your kids something that have socialize and work together. Also if it is something they can all play you can join in from time to time and make it a family affair. Of course different families have different circumstances. However, here are some suggestions that may give you an idea of what to look for as you do your holiday shopping this year.

Multiplayer game consoles. One of the biggest innovations is that some video game companies have adapted their software and hardware for more multiplayer play. This is a huge development considering that the preponderance of games are single player or can only have other players join through online play. A great example is the Nintendo Wii. While not the high definition powerhouse its competitors are, it is a system quite adapted to group play. The innovative motion sensor remote and other accessories makes playing most video games easy to learn. It also has one of the widest selections of multiplayer games from it popular Wii Sports to Mario Galaxy. If you want a system with games all your children can enjoy this is definitely one to look for. Even if you don’t decide to go with this system XBOX and PS3 also have multiplayer party games that your entire family can enjoy.

A simpler gift idea is board games. Board games are great because they need a lot of people playing to really work. They can also be educational and great enrichment teaching your children leadership, strategy, and decision making. They also are incredibly cheap for the amount of fun they provide. Some great games are Life, Monopoly, Clue, and Scrabble. If you already have some of these games. Try getting new updated versions. Monopoly has different versions of the game for just about everykind of interest. There is even a new electronic Monopoly that eliminates the messy confusion of paper money and use credit cards.

While it also deals with video game consoles musical games are fast becoming popular and are great group games. Video games like rock band has a group of people work together to play famous rock hits. While the extra equipment needed to play is costly, It will more than pay for itself with the good times your children will enjoy playing with each other. There are also great karaoke games that can be played a recent favorite are the High School Musical karaoke games that have players perform songs from the three movies.

The last idea is to invest in play sets. Playsets can be anything from a swing and playground set to a tree house or play house. The idea is to give your children a place to play and exercise their imagination. Once again, the cost while higher for one item than normal gifts, actually offers net savings when the cost is divided among each child. You find you are actually spending less than what you would per child on their normal presents. To add to the Christmas magic you can include a magic key from Santa which you can order online.

Create magic in your child’s eyes with our Santa letters . EZSantaLetters.com offers fully personalized Santa letters and 15 pre-written Santa Claus Letters . All letters are postmarked from the North Pole and will definitely put a smile on your child’s face.

If you arrived to see film reviews skip down to read them. To find a movie download site you need to do the right search. “Net Movie Downloads” or “Online Music Download Services” might get you a good result, if they don’t, try “Best Movie Download Sites”.

Lost Horizon: First half hour duplicates 1937 film scene for scene, and everything’s going well. Then we get to Shangri-La and everything goes bad. Cast includes Peter Finch, Liv Ullmann, Sally Kellerman, George Kennedy, Michael Yolk, Olivia Hussey, Bobby Van, James Shigeta, Charles Boyer, and John Gielgnd. (143 minutes, 1973)

My Son John: Archetypal apple-pie parents (Hayes, Jagger) suspect their child (Stroller) of being a communist in this reactionary period piece. Dramatically overwrought, however this film is fascinating as a social history. Stroller (who’s brilliant) died before film was completed. Cast includes Helen Hayes, Robert Stroller, Dean Jagger, Van Heflin, Frank McHugh, and Richard Jaeckel. (122 minutes, 1952)

Follow the Sun: The movie is a fictionalized biopic of golfer Ben Hogan with hokey dramatics to fill in lean spots. Cast includes Glenn Ford, Anne Baxter, and Dennis O’keefe. (93 minutes, 1951)

The Belles of St. Trinians: Humorous movie of Ronald Searle’s cartoons about an entirely insane school for gals, run by a dotty head mistress whose brother, a bookie, desires to use school to his benefit. Cast includes Alastair Sirn, Joyce Grenfell, George Cole, Hermione Baddeley, and Beryl Reid. (90 minutes, 1954)

Red Sorghum: Evocative, beautifully filmed drama, black comedy, kid story, fable which journals a most untraditional union between a set of rural lovers throughout the 1920s. The years pass, the next year shows up, and with it materialize Japanese invaders. Cast includes Gong Li, Jiang Wen, Liu Ji, Teng Rijun, and Qian Ming. (91 minutes, 1987)

Airheads: 3 metal heads with toy guns reluctantly take a music station hostage because they want to get air time for their one and only demo tape. Not the most difficult subject to satirize, although the script is weak anyway. A somewhat vigorous direction and compact running time help a tad. (91 minutes, 1994)

The Lawyer: Energetic tale loosely based on the renowned Dr. Sam Sheppard murder case. Newman is a stubborn youthful barrister guarding physician implicated of killing his spouse, fighting lawful procedure and uncooperative judge. Cast includes Barry Newman, Harold Gould, Diana Muldaur, Robert Colbert, and Kathleen Crowley. (117 minutes, 1970)

Dillinger and Capone: In 1940, discharged from prison, Al Capone (Abraham) holds the family of John Dillinger (Sheen) for ransom. Al desires the bank robber to recoup 150,000 dollars of Capone’s monies from a hotel in Chicago. The clever plot is increased by smooth acting jobs, although it eventually skids into a basic heist thriller. Cast includes Martin Sheen, F. Murray Abraham, Stephen Davies, Catherine Hicks, Don Stroud, Sasha Jenson, Michael Oliver, Jeffrey Combs, Michael C. Gwynne, Anthony Crivello, Bert Remsen, and Clint Howard. (94 minutes, 1995)

The Facts of Life: An advanced comedy with Bob and Lucy leaving their partners for an interlude together. The 2 megastars make a team worth observing. Cast includes Bob Wish, Lucille Ball, Ruth Hussey, and Don DeFore. (103 minutes, 1960)

Did you find something good to see? Don’t forget, search with terms like “Download Movies” and “Online Movies Rentals” to find download sites. If those fail you try “Unlimited Downloads”.

Legal movie downloads and a very viable alternative, unlike they were a few years ago. Movies … Videos Because you don’t need to be flirting with breaking any laws. You can end up with incomplete files and corrupt files.
