The Best Laptop – Tips to Bag the Best One

Posted by: Sean Flynn   in Shopping

Thinking of purchasing a portable laptop? Why not buy the best in the market. But buying the best is not that easy. You are going to come across numerous brands offering different configurations and at different prices and therefore it become all the more necessary for you to do some research on the portable laptop before you strike the deal.

Plan your requirements first. At the outset, you need to have a clear picture of what you need. You may use your portable laptop for office use or as an accessory to your desktop. You may be a gamer or someone who works on multimedia. You may need your laptop to be ultraportable and have a long battery life. Whatever your requirement is, it is best to make a checklist at first before diving into the sea of laptops.

Give importance to the screen size. The screen size in a portable laptop is the main determinant of its portability and usability. A laptop with a 13″ screen will obviously be lighter and much easier to carry than a massive 18″ laptop. Hence, you need to decide first the screen size you wish to go for. Here are the broad divisions of portable laptop screen size based on usability.

The 8-11″ range of ultra portable laptop segment. Perfect for Internet on the go but very little else. The 13″ range of laptops that have a good resolution and usability with a lot of portability. Go for it if you need to work on the move all the time. 14″ segment is the sweet spot in terms of portability and usability, it offers a good screen size without being extremely cumbersome. The 15″ range is good if you do not move about too much and like to watch the occasional movie. It is heavy but viewing is a pleasure with a high definition screen. The 16″-18″ range or more are sort of an entertainment system in a portable package. They are not really meant for people on the go.

Along with the screen size, it is really important to look at the screen resolution in a portable laptop. A 15″ laptop with a low screen resolution such as 1280×800 will generally have a poor quality display.

The most important is the basic configuration. Cheap laptops do not necessarily come with poor processors and little memory. For anything above US$700, insist on a latest generation processor such as the Intel Core 2 Duo or the AMD Turion X2. These processors give you the best in terms of both power savings as well as performance and battery life. With the advent of Windows Vista and the impending release of Windows 7, 2GB of system memory is an minimum. A small 9″ portable laptop, however, can come with the Intel Atom low powered processor and 1GB of system memory.

Battery back up is important too. The battery back up of the laptop largely depends upon the hardware installed inside, size of the display as well as the battery. Ideally, you should get over three hours of juice from your laptops. The smaller netbooks will give you a lot more than that as they consume very little power.

Watching HD and playing games on your laptop – A portable laptop is hardly a gaming machine. It is designed with portability and low power in mind. However, a lot of modern laptops now have discrete graphics cards as standard equipment. These allow you to play moderately taxing games and view HD and blu-ray content smoothly. However, a discrete GPU affects battery life. A high end gaming laptop from brands like Alienware offers only an hour worth of battery backup even though it has a massive battery.

Whatever be the case, the final call in choosing the best portable laptop lies with you. You decide which portable laptop will be the best for you according to your needs and budget.

Roulette Bandit

Posted by: Frank Shaw   in Entertainment

This article is going to be about a roulette system called roulette bandit. There is no doubt that this roulette bandit system has taken the online gaming industry by storm because of the things that are said on the website.

Most of the roulette systems I have tried come with what I call “sexy” websites. They have lots of claims of riches with their roulette systems. I have seen success with some of them but not the amounts of money they would have you believe on their websites.

The roulette bandit seemed a lot more upfront about what you could expect with his roulette system and because I learnt a thing or two from his website I thought what the heck and decided to buy it.

Upon receiving the roulette bandit eBook I had a bit of a shock. Despite my experience playing online roulette I was expecting a simple betting pattern but it is actually rather complicated and it took me a while to get used to it.

After finally getting used to the system I put it into practice and I was pleasantly surprised. One thing that I should point out about the roulette bandit system is that it doesn’t require a large bankroll.

After a few weeks of using the roulette bandit system I have seen slow and steady results. Other systems that I have used can win really quickly but can go on big losing runs. The roulette bandit system does not require you to place any large bets.

If I’m honest I’ve never seen anything like the system that the roulette bandit sent me. Most system and software packages that I have seen are very similar in the systems that they apply but the roulette bandit has definitely thought outside the box to come up with this.

My only slight complaint that I have with the roulette bandit is that his system is not a software program. Most systems these days are in a software format and while some of them aren’t very good they are easy to use.

I still believe that the roulette bandit has done a good job in explaining this roulette system, all I am saying is that no matter how well a system is explained on paper it will never be as good as a software application.

Overall I think that the roulette bandit system is one of the better ones that I have bought. The reason for this is because I have been seeing very consistent results and because I only ever need to place small bets I am never risking a lot of money.

I hope that my Roulette Bandit Review has helped you make a decision on whether or not you want to purchase the Roulette Bandit

Valuable Terminology To Find the Right Insurance

Posted by: Chris Carbukel   in Health and Well Being

It doesn’t matter if you are shopping for Auto, Home, Health, Life or Business insurance – if you don’t know the lingo you are liable to end up paying too much or getting the wrong coverage. Here’s a handy guide to some of the more important insurance terms to keep you on the right track.

General terms:

Deductible – Deductibles are applied in auto, health and homeowners insurance to trim back the total cost of insurance, by your accepting some of the damages or disbursements prior to the insurance company paying for the balance. Usually you select the quantity of the deductible and the higher the quantity you select, the lower your premium.

Premium – the premium is the cost of the insurance. It is how much you or your company pays for the coverage.

Property and Casualty – this describes a part of the insurance industry that covers damage to property or persons injured in an accident. Auto, home-owners and business liability insurance fall under this category.

Life and Health – This is the other section of the insurance industry that doesn’t fit under the property and casualty category.

Umbrella Insurance – This is wider insurance coverage than the original fundamental policy. For instance, a householder’s insurance policy that also admits a universal liability provision of $1,000,000 for personal lawsuits may be considered an umbrella policy.

Auto Insurance:

Collision – Collision insurance covers the damages to your vehicle from a collision or accident.

Comprehensive – This term also applies to car insurance and it’s that aspect of your insurance coverage that compensates for “non-collision” types of damage like fire, water, malicious mischief or theft.

Liability – this is the aspect of your insurance coverage that compensates for losses to a 3rd party like personal injury, property impairment or pain and suffering. Householders policies also usually have liability coverage to protect you from assorted cases of personal injury suits.

No-fault – Half of the states have no-fault insurance which pays for losses no matter who is at fault in the accident.

Medical Insurance:

Ancillary Care/Coverage – Ancillary is a term for “extra” or “additional” or “associated.” It is for insurance policies that not only cover common health benefits but also have additional (ancillary) insurance coverage for prescription medicine or eye care, etc.

Cobra – Cobra is a U.S. law that compels organizations to offer extended health-care insurance coverage to dismissed employees for a specified time period. This insurance coverage is generally paid for by the ex-employee but at group rates.

Co-payment – This is a health insurance term for how much you are required to pay for a visit to the doctor’s office, or for some other type of medical care. After your co-payment and deductibles the insurance company typically pays for the remainder of the bill.

Fee for Service – With this health Insurance you to select any doctor and the insurer will pay an agreed percentage of “reasonable and customary” fees for that type of doctor in your area. You then pay any remainder.

H.M.O. – HMOs give comprehensive medical coverage for a set fee. But they require you to use their facilities and medical employees thus limiting your choice.

P.P.O. – PPOs are networks of care providers who charge a fee for service that is discounted based on a negotiated amount with the insurance company. Insurers thus cover a larger portion of your expense when you use their “preferred providers.”

Life Insurance:

Annuity – Annuities are special types of policies that pay benefits while a person is alive for a specified period of time. They are sometimes connected to Life insurance policies.

Term Life – Term life is life insurance in effect only for a specified period (term) of time. If death occurs during this period, the insurance is paid. If not, the coverage must be renewed or it expires.

Universal Life – A Life insurance policy attached to a savings vehicle tied to market interest rates and where the benefits are not fixed but may change within limits.

Whole Life – A traditional life insurance policy that accumulates cash value over the life of the policy at a fixed rate and with pre-determined premiums. The insurance benefit is also a fixed and guaranteed amount.
