Six pack abs in a week

Posted by: Tim Tofting   in Health and Well Being

by Tim Tofting

If you have recently been going over a number of reference items on the Internet, or in the real world, you would already have come across the claim that attaining the six pack abs could possibly occur in one week. What’s in this hypothesis and can it be done? Unless you get to talk to an individual or you’ve seen the improvement with your own eyes could you truly know if it is true or not? The following information is generous enough to give you a precise account.

The biggest problem is that there’s no reality to the claim that the flat abs everyone clearly desires can possibly be achieved in a week. Seven days will not be adequate to trim a not so good looking abdomen. This is simply a misconception and if you take time analyzing it, fat cannot be converted to muscle in such a short span of time. It is not a sweet roll that you may bake in a day so read on to obtain a better account.

The truth is that the greatest abs ever can just be gained when you combine the right routine with that of a good dose of good dietary habits. Yes, you may end up performing crunches and sit ups until you perspire like there’s no tomorrow however, if you don’t aim at boosting your metabolism, then nothing can proceed perfectly.

Another myth which is involved in the concept of getting those good looking abs is that you must work your muscles by carrying out constant exercises. The thing is that everyone has abs however the majority of individuals are hidden under that unwanted stomach fat therefore it’s only right for you to know that burning the stomach is the best way to obtain good abs. The high level exercise will provide an effect which would actually set your blood flowing so that the body is ready enough to vanquish the fat in the stomach region.

If you truly wish to shake off that stomach fat of yours, you simply need to exercise it off. Dedicate a minimum of 15 minutes or so to hit those high impact workouts that will focus on your mid-section. You have 2 choices and these are to either exercise manually or to hit the machine.

The next thing that you must be wary of is the your nutrition so consume the proper food at the proper time. If experts are to believed, it’s better to consume six smaller meals in a day which will leave your metabolism operating at its best so it can burn the fat and the other calorie deposits. Eat foods that are rich in proteins, carbohydrates, and essential fats, even so, everything has to be in moderation.

Do this for about 2 months consecutively and you’ll eventually attain the highly desired six pack abs! However, you must be patient as well as persevering if you wish to enjoy the results the hard work you have put into it.

Rational Thinking and Pet Health Insurance

Posted by: Karsten Broderlynn   in Health and Well Being

by Karsten Broderlynn

If perception is reality then doesn’t logic dictate that the difference between a bad decision and a good one isn’t the choice that’s made but the results of that choice? If you leap out of the way of an oncoming car, you’ve made a smart choice. But if you land in front of another car speeding in the opposite direction, suddenly your decision to jump doesn’t seem as smart.

Both outcomes resulted from the exact same choice; to dive out of the way of certain death. But in evaluating the results, the first scenario seems to be the product of a smart decision while the second outcome resulted from what seems to be a decidedly bad choice. But does that mean that random fate determines the merits of our decisions in life? Couldn’t one say the decision was smart regardless and the outcome simply unfortunate in the latter case?

My father once told me that the value of a choice wasn’t simply apparent in the decision itself or in its outcome. Rather, one had to consider the thought that went into the choice in the first place. My evident confusion prompted him to expand on that.

He paused and then asked me what I would do if he offered me an investment opportunity that could convert $5,000.00 of my dollars into $50,000.00 in ten years. Would I take it? To get me to think further he proposed that I’d have about a 50% chance of making that $50k and better odds of making only $30K or $40K. Regardless, I could rest assured that I’d almost certainly get my full investment back if things didn’t work out but I’d still have to wait 10 years. I considered the question and replied that I might take the opportunity if I had disposable cash handy and nothing pressing on which I felt it should be spent.

He then asked me if I’d bite on an offer of $5 million, to be paid out in a week, if the initial investment was just $5 for a lottery ticket. Without pause, I reached for my wallet and told him to go fetch the ticket.

He smiled at me and then shook his head before explaining that my decision was a bad one made by thousands of hopefully lotto players every day. Though $5 was a paltry investment for such a huge potential payout, the odds were so astronomically stacked against me that the decision was a bad one. Even if I won, the decision wasn’t smart. It was a dumb choice that just happened to result in a good outcome. The $5,000.00 investment, on the other hand, was a smarter choice.

But this isn’t about investing or lottery or even dodging traffic. The objective here is weigh the value of purchasing health insurance for your pet. If you’ve been considering it, you don’t need me to tell you that the decision can often be a difficult one.

Much as with the investing example, many of us struggle with the choice of insuring our pets because we tackle this dilemma with the same irrational approach we might apply to purchasing a lottery ticket. What if our pet never requires an expensive procedure? Will we be able to stomach having thrown away all that money over the years for nothing?

Alternatively, we apply emotions to the choice. If we don’t get health coverage for our pet, does that mean we don’t love it? Are we wrong for assigning a dollar value to the health of our animal?

In both cases these are the wrong approaches and will not lead to a smart decision. Basing the choice on what-ifs is wholly unproductive. No matter how healthy your particular breed may be in general, you can’t predict accidents such as poisons or car accidents.

The second approach is a mistake in that a financial decision should never be grounded purely in emotion. If you can’t afford a monthly fee for health insurance, it has no bearing on the level of affection you feel for your pet. Rather, it’s a simple fact of economics.

In deciding whether or not veterinary insurance is the smart choice for your pet, take a rational approach. Look at the facts. Should an expensive procedure be unexpectedly required, could you cover the cost out of your savings? Remember it could cost you thousands of dollars. Obviously, if you make a lot of money and are good at maintaining savings for emergencies then there’s probably no point in getting insurance.

Consider your pet’s age and potential breed-specific health concerns. If you have a puppy, don’t live in a dangerous area with heavy traffic, plan to keep a close eye on your pet when it’s outside and have a generally healthy breed, postponing the decision to get health insurance until it is older may be the rational approach. Just don’t discount the potential for emergencies in your choice.

Before you invest in pet insurance, you should invest time into researching your particular breed and your financial circumstances. The peace of mind that comes with having health insurance for your pet is great but not if you can’t afford other necessities as a result. Factor in your job stability, savings account and your ability to sock away additional money over the next few months (and be brutally honest about your spending habits as you perform this analysis.

After reviewing all the facts absent attempts at prognostication and absent pointlessly kicking yourself emotionally, you’ll be able to make a smart decision. That means the right choice at the time regardless the unanticipated outcome down the road. A rationally grounded decision will leave you content with the knowledge that you did what was right at the time. Save the random, emotionally-based attempts at predicting the future for your trip to Vegas.

Costume Jewelry Facts and Care Advice

What makes up costume jewely?

1. Synthetic stones such as glass, rhinestone, cubic zirconia, or plastic are a primary component of most costume jewelry. The most popular of which is cubic zirconia because of its sparkle, hardness, and durability. It is used to create simulated versions of precious gemstones such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, or emeralds. Its sparkly appeal and inexpensive price tag allow for much larger, bolder pieces that instantly attract attention. Colored glass can also be used to simulate precious stones and faux pearls. Rhinestone jewelry is also popular because of its glitzy appeal and color choices. Epoxy and acrylic are plastics that is often used to make inexpensive bead jewelry.

Although typical costume jewelry consists of synthetic stones sometimes semi-precious stones such as pearls, topaz, black opal, amethyst, or peridot are used to provide a more fine jewelry appeal.

2. A base metal or combination of metals (alloy) such as tin, copper, brass, nickel, that has been altered to resemble precious metals like silver, gold, or platinum. This is achieved by a variety of methods including:

tone: Costume jewelry is sometimes referred to as silver or gold tone. Tone refers to the color of the metal only. Gold and silver tone jewelry are silver and gold in color but contain no actual gold or silver.

electroplating: This is probably the most common method. In this process an electric current is used to deposit a thin layer, as little as 2 micro inches (a micro inch is one millionth of an inch) onto the base alloy metal which is immersed in a salt bath solution of the precious metal that will be used to plate the object.

layering: This method also uses plating only the object is immersed for a longer period of time allowing for a much thicker layer of precious metal. Layered gold or silver may consist of approximately 20-50 micro inches of gold or silver. Although it doesnt sound like much, this thicker layer results in a much more durable jewelry piece especially when coated with a protective material such as Tarniban which is an organic substance that provides a protective shield and adds to the hardness of the metal.

overlay: This method utilizes heat rather than electricity to combine the base metal with the precious metal to form a new alloy. This creates a permanent bond between the metals which creates jewelry that can be as durable and long lasting as the real thing with proper care. Gold overlay jewelry is also sometimes referred to as gold filled. It is generally safer for sensitive skin than costume jewelry made by other methods.

Technibond: This is considered to be one of the most desired methods of gold plating because it uses a full 40 micro inches of 14kt gold over .925 sterling silver. For gold and silver lovers it is the best of both worlds. However, as with any plated item, a protective coating should be added for best results.

vermeil: This is considered the creme de la creme of gold plating. This method uses as much as 100 micro inches of gold over .925 sterling silver and as you can expect is also more expensive.

3. Costume jewelry may also consist of odd materials such as wood, stone, and shell which can be either natural or colored.

How to care for costume jewelry

Although costume jewelry doesnt require much of an investment, it is still important to get the most bang for your buck by taking proper care of your costume jewelry by following a few simple steps:

1. NEVER allow costume jewelry to come in contact with oils, soaps, perfumes, or any harsh chemicals which can fade or even ruin the item.

2. ALWAYS remove jewelry before sports, swimming, exercising, washing hands, showering, cleaning, doing laundry, or applying lotions or creams.

3. NEVER store jewelry wet. Always dry with a soft cloth before storing.

4. Store jewelry individually in a ziploc bag or soft pouch away from other objects and jewelry items to avoid scratching.

5. Store jewelry in a clean, dry, cool, not cold place away from heat and dust.

6. Be gentle. Use a soft toothbrush and jewelry cleaner that specifically states that it is safe for costume jewelry. Make sure it does not contain acid, alcohol, or ammonia.

7. Use a jewelry cloth for buffing.

8. Regularly check for loose stones.

Costume jewelry is a fun and inexpensive way to express your own unique style. When it comes to variety and affordability in fashion, costume jewelry is unparalleled.
