If you are planning a getaway in Mexico you will be pleasantly surprised when you see the stunning beaches surrounding Cancuns hotel zone. It took the efforts of over two hundred people to restore the beaches when a storm carried a great deal of sand away. Their efforts really paid off because the beaches are beautiful.

The accommodations of the various resorts are inviting and luxurious just as the beaches are.

The beaches, after being rebuilt, seem 50% bigger than what they used to be. This gives all the visitors to this lovely area a lot more space to relax and enjoy all the activities that are on offer.

Those beaches that extend into the Caribbean are often referred to as the north side beaches; these beaches are sheltered from the strong Caribbean current by Isla Mujeres. Those who visit this beach will find that in this area the wind and wave conditions are very mild ideal for family activities and swimming.

Those who enjoy water sport activities may prefer the beach on the east side. The following will give you some examples of the different beaches.

Playa Las Perlas can be found at the beginning of the Hotel Zone. This beach is popular for swimming as well as all water sports activities. There are plenty of restaurants and bars that beach goers can enjoy while relaxing at Playa Las Perlas.

Playa Linda is a beach that is popular because of the many tourist destinations. It is on the north side and is known for the calm and crystal clear waters making it perfect for water sports. For the scuba enthusiast, there are scuba diving tours available in the area.

Playa Langosta and Playa Tortugas are two beaches that are known for their pristine sands and relaxing atmosphere. Many water sports enthusiasts flock to these beaches since the waves are more active than other areas making water skiing, boating and water skiing a blast.

Playa Caracol is one of the most popular beaches in Cancun. The stunning beach has long stretches of soft sand that glimmers in the sun and shallow water leading out with a smooth sandy bottom. Families with children really enjoy the crystal clear waters and have fun playing at this beach. When they have had enough sun they enjoy browsing in the many shops in the area and dining in one the fabulous restaurants.

Playa Delfines has become known unofficially as the gay beach of Cancun and is popular for gay singles and couples. Once you take a look at the grassy slope leading down to the beach youll understand what I mean. This beach is perfect for surfing, sunning and all activities in between. At Playa Delfines, the sun in not the only thing that is sizzling hot.

The visitors that choose an east side beach will experience higher waves and breezier conditions than the beaches on the north side. However, there are some east side beaches that are known to be family friendly.

Playa Marlin, Gaviota Azul and Chac Mool are probably the most northern on the east side of the hotel zone, though the beaches may not seem as glamorous as other beaches. Due to the high wave action, these beaches are popular for people who enjoy para-sailing, and windsurfing.

Play Ballenas can be found in one of the most exciting areas in Cancun and offers plenty of land exploration possibilities. Visitors enjoy the popular water sports like tubing, boating, swimming and water skiing. Playa Ballenas is a very friendly and fun beach.

A few beaches that are known for spectacular scenery in the area are Playa Delfines and Playa Nizuc. These beaches also offer many lovely restaurants that are enjoyable after a lond day of fun in the sun.

Safe and Effective Weight Loss one Step at a Time

Posted by: Elise Peters   in Health and Well Being

by Elise Peters

Before you start on your weight loss plan make sure that you are not intimidated by your goals. The goals that you set for yourself may seem impossible to reach at first glance and it is easy to lose heart and quit before even getting started on your program. As you probably need to make some changes in your lifestyle, it’s best to ensure that these will be changes that you can self-impose over a long period.

For most people weight loss in one big bold effort is not the way to go. Reaching a goal this way often wont work because it can leave the person overwhelmed. The sheer amount of sacrifice can make a slimmer feel that they are just giving up too much to reach their goal. It will not work if the person feels that they are paying a price that is too much to achieve the goals set.

Pacing lifestyle changes and doing things at your own speed is the way to go. Taking the challenges of the program in small chunks is the only way for a weight loss program to be successful. In weight loss the long term result is more important. As long as you get to your goals, the length of time it takes you should not be so important – within reason of course.

Taking a conservative approach and doing things in your own time is an alternative that you might want to strongly consider. You don’t want to start on a weight loss program only to find yourself backsliding to your old habits less than a week after youve started. Choose a path that you can accept into your lifestyle for the long haul.

Another issue among people wanting to lose weight is finding the motivation to see through the weight loss program. Mind-setting is just as important as goal setting. If working for a better physique and appearance is not enough motivation, then other concerns like having a healthier heart and winning the admiration of the people around you should provide the additional encouragement. You may even want to forego vanity at some point so that you wont lose focus of your set goals.

Making the small changes you would employ will take deliberate effort. Modifying your eating habits is normally the first step taken to lose weight. Reducing portions and eating healthier alternatives from the foods you are eating are sure fire ways to get you on track on your weight loss program. Managing your intake of fuel will mean you don’t have as much to burn – meaning your body will burn the excess instead.

To assist further with your weight loss furnace you will need to incorporate some exercise into your life. You don’t need to turn into an olympic athelete overnight. Start off gradually – perhaps just parking the car a bit further from work. Doing some rigorous housework or gardening on a regular basis might help you kill two birds with one stone. Or find a hobby to help you exercise – such as badminton for example.

Finding it in yourself to set out your goals and work for them is the best way for any weight loss program to work, in fact any weight loss program would work if you decide to make it work, fad diet or not! The important thing is to stick to it. Persistence and self-belief are key to a successful weight loss programme.

The Evolution Of Golf Arcade Games

Posted by: Peter Russell   in Entertainment

by Peter Russell

Arcade sports are a favorite with the masses owing to their speed and big points which make them competitive. Sports like rugby, basket ball and golf and the like are no exception to this.

One sport that has translated successfully to the arcade version is golf. Arcade golf games, with their simulated background sounds and play-by-play running commentaries, are the prime choice for entertainment and promotional contests at trade shows, company events and hosted parties. The entire arcade game consists of a wide range of equipment, such as a large-screen video display, PVC golf balls tethered to a post, an electronic platform with digital sensors to relay swing motion and data, and other conventional accessories, such as putting green mat and hole, tee box and flag, etc. The only thing needed to play is the golfer’s own personal set of golf clubs.

The Golden Tee is just such an arcade game and since its release has become a gaming phenomenon to give the pool table and dartboard a run for their money at the bar. And because its coin-operated, the money goes straight into the pocket of the distributer.

Golf arcade games include features for judging ball trajectory, backspin, and controls to increase shot accuracy. In fact, some enthusiasts even choose to buy and keep their own copies to use at home! And if their spouse enjoys it, too, it can become a great activity for married couples.

These arcade games need batteries to run (not included in the package) which can be purchased separately online or through stores. They feature the ability to play alone or with friends in a tournament setup. Some have ticket dispensers, a free play feature, or mechanisms to accept coins. And because they have wheels built-in, they are portable, allowing the owner to move the game wherever they desire.

A newly developed version, The PGA Tour Golf 2006 Challenge Home Edition, has taken the arcade golf game to another level. It has endless options for customization, allowing players to choose preferred tee-times and even set the weather conditions, such as heavy rains or high winds, that have a direct bearing on game play.

Every minute aspect is taken into account, right from landscapes to dents on the ball. What more, you have the option of making the golfer resemble you and your closest buddy!

These beautifully orchestrated arcade sports get you a sensation of unrivalled originality and an enjoyable gaming experience to match.
